What a Weekend! 2 Nights at Coast Film & Music Festival
The team is still basking in the glow from three incredible sold-out nights in Santa Barbara at the Arlington Theatre (November 6) and Laguna Beach, California, at the Coast Film & Music Festival (November 8–9), celebrating the 25th anniversary of Jack’s iconic surf films Thicker Than Water and The September Sessions, newly remastered in 4K.
Santa Barbara marked the first time ever both films were screened in beautifully remastered 4K on the big screen and kicked off The Moonshine Conspiracy reunion.
Opening night in Laguna was full of surprises, bringing many of the featured surfers together on stage, moderated by Jamie Brisick, including Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, Emmett Malloy, Chris, Keith and Dan Malloy, and more to reflect on their longtime friendships, seminal surf adventures, and the uniqueness of these films. Each film as iconic and vibrant today as it was decades earlier, an ageless piece of surf history brought to life again as the surfers relived it together on stage.
Saturday concluded with a special Jack performance featuring Hermanos Gutiérrez, G. Love, Todd Hannigan, Xocoyotzin Moraza, and bandmates Adam Topol, Merlo Podlewski, and Zach Gill, playing to an eclectic crowd singing along to songs that have become household staples for more than two decades.
The energy continued into Sunday, where fans watched The September Sessions, live-scored by Jack and his band, followed by another special concert with friends G. Love, Donavon Frankenreiter, Matt Costa, and more. Kelly Slater also surprised the audience returning for a hello and jam session.
Both nights had fans singing, dancing, laughing, and feeling the love, offering an early glimpse into Jack’s 2026 SURFILMUSIC Tour, where classic and new songs blend seamlessly with nostalgia, storytelling, connection, and beautiful visuals.
Thank you to the Coast Film & Music Festival for having us and to all our friends who joined us on stage. Until next time!
